In Case You Missed It, #8

ReLive episode 8 of In Case You Missed It right here!

Episode 8 went even further back than episode 7 which covered Breakpoint 2003. I crossed the millenium border and went all the way back to The Party 1997, my third demoparty. And oh boy, with a tagline of “batteries not included” and a city-wide power outage lasting several hours you can be sure we (large group of people from TLSDS aka Teklords & Smash Designs) had lots of fun, e.g. with this device and a car battery…

In Case You Missed It, #7

A throwback to the distant past… this was meant to be the first of a “Specials” series that I wanted to do only about 3–4 times a year but there probably won’t be many new parties for the foreseeable future, except Revision Online. So, I guess this is our life now: reliving the music of parties from a long time ago…

And the series starts off with the music of Breakpoint 2003! The very first Breakpoint, in an old military depot on a mountain near Bingen, it was fucking cold, the hall had no insulation because it wasn’t a hall, it was a hangar, and airplanes and tanks and other military vehicles don’t cry when it’s cold so a hangar is all they got and that’s all we got, plus 40 kW of heating.

What we also got was a shitload of entries! Listen for yourself:

reLive the episode right here!

I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I did. The next episode will be on wednesday, April 29th, 20:00 CEST, as usual. Mark your calenders!

Creating an Episode of “In Case You Missed It”

Half a year ago I started my own radio show on SceneSat Radio, in addition to the shows I have already been doing from demoparties. My show is called “In Case You Missed It” and in case you missed it (ha, I’m so funny) it’s presenting music released at demoparties, either as part of a production or as a standalone entry, and in case you missed “In Case You Missed It” when it was airing live you can listen to it again and again and again on reLive.

A lot of work goes into an episode of “In Case You Missed It.” It’s usually only around one and a half hours long (though there have been and always will be exceptions) but it takes much, much more time than that to actually prepare it!

Welcome to the Blog

Internet radio, like SceneSat, is getting less and less popular, mostly pushed out of the way by personalized playlists, created by services that can offer all the music to you at the push of a button.

And just like internet radio, blogging has gone out of style, taken over by social media. But sometimes, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram are not the right tool for the story… and that is where this blog comes in.

Every now and then, when one of the staffers think they have something interesting to share which would be wasted on social media they now have the option of publishing it here. So make sure to watch this space for interesting news and stories around SceneSat itself, or demoparties we’re at, or shows we create!
